Get Yer Boots On - Drop In Event
Well what a day it was . The very first event organised by the group took place on Saturday 31st October 2009 at the Oddfellows Hall in Stafford .
We titled it "Get Yer Boots On " and were hopeful that people would bring along their old Stafford made shoes . And indeed some did .
The event was really well received with over 80- people attending, even a couple from as far away as Worcester.
So what can we take from the day
- In excess of 80 people came along
- All who attended said that the aims of the group were good and wished it success
- We recorded a few stories from people
- We had some donations of items such as shoes , books etc
- We have gathered a few more people that wish to be part of any future event
- People met up who had not seen each other for many years
- Everyone liked the venue
- The DVDs and tapes were a hit with people asking if they could buy them
